To evaluate the performance of a thermal insulator in any environment, parameters such as the maximum thermal tolerance of the insulator, the coefficient of heat transfer, and its flammability are assessed. The maximum thermal tolerance of an insulator is crucial in ensuring that it remains undamaged and its lifespan is not reduced when exposed to a warm environment, allowing it to maintain its performance in the long run. The coefficient of heat transfer of the insulator determines the amount of energy transferred due to the surface confined by the insulator, thereby defining the temperature on the other side of the insulator. Flammability is one of the most important parameters of a thermal insulator, as it can minimize the risk of flame transfer in case of ignition.
